TNNA was great. You'll be glad to know that the knitting industry is ticking over very nicely. Store owners seemed happy this year and interested in what's new. The book seemed to get some interest, yay. Now that we're back we spent all day Thursday editing the Plus book. We're that much closer to getting it to the printer.

Meanwhile back at the ranch I've started a second vest.
My calculator is resting for a moment. It's been working hard figuring out all the numbers for the vest in worsted weight. I've already knit the Heavy Worsted version (see previous post). I've decided I'm going to write this pattern in two weights: Worsted Weight and Heavy Worsted weight. Your choice. This gives you two weights of yarn to find the exact colour and texture you want. And I get to knit two vests, yay, one summer (already done) and one winter (planning ahead).

It's summer and with a road trip coming up, it's time to cast on a sock.
Starting something new is always fun. I do love the top-up sock.

We're off to TNNA (The National Needlework show), a trade show for people in the bizz is on this weekend. A long day of driving to Ohio but lots of time to work out our plans for the coming year.

I finished this vest last week. It was quick. I like that it has some drape to it in this yarn.
On the button hunt and then it's done. No finishing at all on this one (except for the buttons of course). No buttonband to pick up or sleeves to knit. Gotta love that.

I'd like to do it again with a lace pattern down the sides instead of the ribbing. A plainer yarn would show that better. And a winter weight of yarn might be good idea. Is it too early to think about getting a head start on the season? I hear that winter's coming once again, sooner or later. Later would be better!!

Restlessness has set in. It seems to be the aftermath of a large project nearing completion. The knitting is all done for the Plus Cardigan book (due out at the end of July), with more editing still to be done. I go from project to project not quite knowing what to do. Started 2 socks and abandoned them. So I've been scarf knitting.
The long view.

The short view.

This is a zigzag scarf from the accessories section of the Teens and Tweens booklet . The pattern is really interesting to knit and I was contemplating doing another one even after working 6' on this one. I can't tell you what wool it is. Told you, totally scattered, lost the tag. I'm sure you recognize it if you're into colourful fingering wool. Started another scarf today in blue hand-dyed wool, in a different pattern. Got inspired after watching this video 25 ways to wear a scarf in 4.5 minutes.

A vest is so quick to knit. Our weather is going from very hot to very cool. I think it's going to be a handy garment to carry around with me.
Only 3 more inches to go and I'm done. The pattern is almost finished too, yay. I'm on the third ball of yarn which will do me to the end.
