Here's another sneak peak from the Plus book.
I didn't knit this one, Dana did. It's in DK weight for her daughter. And to give you a variation on the theme, I knit this one which you've already seen.
Aran weight with cap sleeves (or they will be when I get them finished). Just to show that the lovely lace pattern can be used for any weight of yarn and come out beautifully. I really like to see what a pattern will do with different yarn and this one did really well.

It's been a busy knitting week. I just this moment cast off the last stitch of another Basic cardigan. A classic style V-neck cardigan, 44" size.
I have one more sweater I want to knit but I think a good stiff walk is in order. Tonight I'll cast on the new one.

Does this sound familiar, cast off and reach for some new yarn to cast on? Never a boring moment.

Sunday 15 April 2012

It's been a busy week. Lyn and I went to Kawartha Needles and Hooks guild meeting in Peterborough, ON. Lyn set up shop and I gave a talk on Making It Fit, 'it' being your sweater of course. We sited some Cabin Fever sweaters.

The 50 x 50 Poncho and the Summer Braids . It's so inspiring to see them knit up on different people. Wonderful.

I'm also blocking the sweaters from the Plus-size book.
And almost finished one more with cap sleeves. I think that counts as a vest.

Buttons to sew on of course and I'm thinking about knitting one more.

I just finished putting a collar on the Basic Cardigan for the Plus-size book. I really love a collar on a cardigan.
This is KnitEast wool by Fleece Artist. I really love knitting with it. I decided to put the collar on after finishing the buttonband several months ago and had forgotten how much I like it.

In every book there is a difficult time. Coming down to the wire, what stays and what gets cut. Can't everything stay?! No. This week this decision is going to be made. It must. So just to complicate matters I cast on for another sweater.
I am just about to add some lace to the body. It may not make it into the book since I already have someone knitting one in a finer yarn. I have this one in mind for myself. Keeps me occupied while Robin and I discuss the pros and cons of a couple of designs.
